In 1945 Henry came home from WWII. Looking to get away he and few of his friends loaded up his 1935 Plymouth Coupe and drove from Chicago to the Smoky Mountains. Henry is my father and he fell in love with this area. A year later he returned to the Smokies with my mom on their honeymoon and the love affair with the area continued. We vacationed here as a family, I remember going to Gold Rush Junction (now Dollywood) as a kid. Mini golf, rug slides and log flume rides are burned into my memories. I remember being dragged up a really steep hill and hating every step. I now know that hike was up to Clingmans Dome.
A few years ago I returned to the Smokies with my wife Cindy. We hiked the trails in the park and like my father before me the mountains spoke to me. We love it here, so much so we have returned to the park every year since. This is our nirvana.
Like you, we rented cabins during our stays and after a few visits we decided to pull the trigger and buy a cabin of our own. We must have looked at a thousand cabins before deciding on this one we now call Dancing Bearfoot. The cabin is small, it’s quaint and it’s ours. We’re happy to be sharing Dancing Bearfoot with you hoping that this area will become equally special to you and your family.
We have made a great many upgrades to this little cabin in the woods, updated kitchen, updated furnishings and appliances, granite counters, live edge vanity and a bathtub in the master bedroom unlike any other in the Smokies. We’ve tried to add little things to make your stay a bit more comfortable; new mattresses, USB ports and power outlets by every bed and in the living room. A cable package with more than just a couple channels so you don’t miss the game or your favorite show. Out back on the deck you can relax in the rocking chairs, take a long break in the hot tub or just soak in nature on the porch swing.
Our goal is to make your Smoky Mountains vacation memorable, comfortable, and relaxing. We hope you can see the care we’ve put into this little cabin and if there are any improvements you think we need to make please let us know.
Thank you for staying with us!
